The 1st CEACM S4ML conference, held last week in Prague, was not only a landmark event for advancing computational mechanics and machine learning but also a celebration of outstanding achievements within these domains, as the CEACM Award Ceremony took place during the conference. The CEACM Board has attributed three CEACM Awards to honor active researchers from CEACM partner countries.
The senior scientists are honored by the CEACM Prof. Mang Award, the highest honor by CEACM, named after its founding father. The CEACM Prof. Mang Award is bestowed each year to honor an outstanding individual who has demonstrated sustained efforts in advancing theoretical or practical aspects of computational mechanics and provided strong leadership in an academic environment or different industrial applications. The CEACM Prof. Mang Award is attributed to Professor Zdenek BITTNAR of CTU Prague, Czech Republic.
Established researchers are honored with the CEACM Computational Mechanics Award. This award recognizes a researcher who contributed significantly to the traditional disciplines of Computational Mechanics or related domains. This year, Professor Ivica KOZAR of the University of Rijeka, Croatia, received the award.
CEACM initiated the CEACM Young Researcher Award to honor the exceptional contribution of a young scientist who completed his/her doctoral studies in the broad domain of computational mechanics within the year of the award call. This year’s winner is Samir SULJEVIC of the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. CEACM also nominated this thesis for participating in the ECCOMAS competition for the Best Thesis Award.
The recognition of these awardees underscores the importance of continued research and collaboration. CEACM remains committed to supporting and celebrating the accomplishments of its members, fostering an environment where groundbreaking research can thrive.
